Why is it so hard to let yourself rest?

Many of us know the feeling. A free hour appears, and it fills at once: an email, an errand, someone else's request. Rest starts to feel like something you have to earn first. In Latvian there are simple words for it, laiks sev, time for yourself. They are easy to say and hard to allow.

We will not try to explain why this happens, and we will not promise that one visit will change it. We will only say what we see every day: often it is not a lack of time that stands in the way of rest, but the number of decisions around it. Where to go, what to choose, how long it takes, whether it will feel awkward. By the time all of that is settled, the wish to rest has gone.

What does omotenashi have to do with rest?

Omotenashi (the art of true hospitality) is the Japanese culture of care that HEADSPA is built on. The host anticipates what the guest needs, before the guest has even thought of it, and expects no thanks.

For someone who finds it hard to rest, this matters more than any treatment. You do not need to compare programmes, choose products or watch the clock. The ritual is shaped around you, not taken from a price list. We work with the person, not the symptom.

Where does the care begin?

With quiet, and with a question. Every ritual opens with a scalp diagnosis, and we do not work without it. It is not a formality: it guides the choice of care, Davines or Limba, and a programme made for you.

The studio's founder, Aleksandra Talikova, is a cosmetologist with a medical education and a spa specialist (CIDESCO). She builds the programmes herself and welcomes guests. That is where our precision comes from: we never promise what cannot be proved. A head spa is not a medical procedure. If hair loss, itching or flaking worries you, we suggest seeing a dermatologist.

What happens during those two hours?

Every ritual shares the same foundation: scalp diagnosis, head massage by hand, with combs and with a device, Davines or Limba care, aromatherapy, a hand cream-butter and a tea ceremony at the end.

Aqua Sound adds sound. Otonami (wave of sound) is a method, not background music: singing bowls lead the ritual from beginning to end. The water is warm, the light is low, and the sound sets the pace. You can close your eyes and think about nothing, because here there is nothing to think about.

Hair drying is not included in the ritual time. If you have plans afterwards, leave a little time for it.

What stays with you afterwards?

We speak of three dimensions of a ritual: body, mind and afterglow. The afterglow is what stays with you two hours later, a day later, a week later. We cannot tell you in advance what yours will be. We can only make room for it.

Can I give this time to someone else?

Sometimes a person cannot give themselves permission to rest, and then that permission can be a gift. For a mother, a friend, a sister, anyone who always looks after others.

A HEADSPA gift card comes in 50 €, 100 € or 200 €, or you can choose your own amount from 25 € to 500 €. An amount of 85 € covers Aqua Sound Basic, 100 € covers Aqua Sound Premium. The recipient chooses the day, and we think through everything else. Choose a gift card.

When is a good time to come?

We are open every day from 09:00 to 20:00. A weekday morning suits those who want to begin the day calmly. An evening after work suits those who want to end the day differently.
