Ogonhi
The golden ratio for two -
the middle that joins you.
September-November · March-April · a ritual for two · 180 min
We invite you into a Japanese ritual for two - into stillness, quiet, seclusion and a gentle gladness. Because that is what we look for in the person beside us.
Kintsugi
Sometimes we look for our other half all our lives. But to find is not yet to keep.
In Japan a cracked bowl is not thrown away. The crack is filled with gold - 金継ぎ, kintsugi - and the bowl becomes dearer than an unbroken one. And it is the crack alone that makes it the only one in the world.
O-Higan
The 23rd of September is the day of the autumn equinox, 秋分の日. It is held that our life has this shore - where we live, hurry and doubt. And there is that shore - where everything is finally in its place. At the equinox, when the day is exactly as long as the night, the distance between the shores is at its shortest. Hence the name of the week: 彼岸, O-higan.
One day in the year, stitched with a golden thread into a ritual for two, will make your shared bowl whole, and fill you both with love and quiet.
The ritual
Ogonhi is "the golden ratio for two" - the middle that joins you. Three hours together, with nowhere to hurry.
- Quiet
- Warm water
- Work with the body and the breath
- The hands of the therapists
- A tea ceremony
- An unhurried conversation
No phones, no "must". Be ready to find yourselves - so as to keep one another.
