Why here

Short northern days -
a time to renew.

Omotenashi is Japanese hospitality in which a guest is cared for before they have had to ask. We bring it to Riga - to the eastern edge of Europe.

The northern dark of November and December is a time to renew, not to grieve. The day is short, and that is precisely why people here know how to slow down: warmth, tea, quiet. Our rituals are built to that same rhythm - unhurried, with time in which nothing has to be decided.

You come in from the city, and from there the therapist takes care of you: a short scalp consultation, warm water or sound, care for the face and the head, a tea ceremony. From one hour to three - and you return to the city with a light head.

A Japanese day in Riga

Eastern art at the Riga Bourse art museum in the morning, the Riga-Kobe friendship clock, lunch at a Japanese kitchen, tea - and the ritual at the end of the day.

A Latvian touch

Tea, honey, amber

A Japanese ceremony,
Latvian herbs.

A tea ceremony is part of every ritual. In winter we pour Latvian winter tea with honey. That is this country's hospitality.

Amber is a gift of the Baltic Sea. We are working with it in a new ritual.
